Fort Wayne Radio Club

Please plan on joining us this Friday night for the February general meeting of the Fort Wayne Radio Club. Although we originally planned on having an EM COMM theme for the night, with two other meetings devoted to that activity, we changed the meeting’s focus to the latest in Fox Hunting technology. We will meet in the “Pit” which is the small meeting room adjacent to the Raasch Hall in Good Shepherd Church.

We will have discussion on two modern direct mapping techniques. Also, there will be discussion of the technical features of the “Micro Fox”. Also, we may have some details on Geo Caching as well.

Join us on Friday night for one of the fun aspects of Amateur Radio! The meeting starts at 7:00 pm. The Good Shepherd United Methodist Church is at the corner of Vance Avenue and Reed Road in Fort Wayne, just south of Snider High School.

Al Burke, WB9SSE has uploaded photos from the Jan. 18, 2013 FWRC auction. FWRC Treasurer Bob Streeter, W8ST reports that the club recieved income from the auction totaling $402.50

QST QST QST…..This coming Friday, January 18th, be sure not to miss the Fort Wayne Radio Club’s annual auction.

Here is how it works…. everyone either buying, selling, or both must register and receive a number. The club is always number one!

When an item is sold, the buyer pays the club the selling price. The club then gets 10% of that amount, up to a maximum of $20. The remainder goes to the seller.

We love stuff donated to the club, but if it does not sell, we cannot be responsible for disposing of the item.

Set up for the auction starts at 6:00pm. We will try to get things going and the meeting started by 6:30pm. We have to be done by 8:45pm.

If you have a big ticket item, rigs; etc.. let us know ahead of Friday, so we can get the word out, and you will have a better chance of selling it!

Chad and Paul, both professional auctioneers, will be doing the announcing, as long as they don’t get the flu!!

I will have some club items for sale, including a Cobra CB Base station rig with “Power Mic”, amoung others.

Don’t miss this great annual event to help out the radio club! Put it on you refrigerator calendar before your spouse puts a dinner date with the Kowalskis!! (they are so boring!)

Tim Gardner, N9LF reports that the rules for the 2013 Indiana QSO Party (INQP) have been posted on the INQP web site: www.hdxcc.org/inqp/. Tim reported taht there are no major changes, only minor clarifications.

I have updated the club roster as shown on the club web page. The call signs now listed are those of paid or lifetime members as of January of this year. I add to the list as additional re-ups dribble in throughout the year.
