License exam session planned in Columbia City Sep. 5

Volunteer examiners plan an amateur radio license exam session Saturday, September 5 at the St. Paul of the Cross Deacon Joe Bldg. gymnasium, 215 S Line St, Columbia City, IN. They plan to administers tests from 9 a.m. and noon.

The exam team requires advanced registration for this session and will accept no walk-ins. Persons may register in advance via the email address or phone number below.

The examination team will require all persons to wear masks, including examiners and those taking tests. The team will also require distancing. Members of the examiner team will check the body temperatures of all who enter, using a touchless thermometer. They ask all examinees to bring their own pencils and pens to use for the testing and filling out paperwork.

The gymnasium has enough tables to allow the test team and those taking the test to stay six feet apart. The exam team will also provide hand sanitizer in the testing area.

Check in will start at 9 a.m. No exams will begin after 11 a.m.

Examinees must bring photo identification. Any licensed ham who wishes to take a test to upgrade their license must bring a copy of their existing license that they can leave with the application. Examinees must also bring $14 for the exam fee.

Any person who experiences symptoms of illness the day of the session is asked to stay home.
