Please plan on joining us this Weekend as W9TE competes in the ARRL JUNE VHF QSO Party. This contest is a very good shakedown for some of the equipment we will be using for the end of month Field Day operation, as well as a lot of fun with 6 meter conditions looking very good this year. The contest runs from 2:00 pm Saturday, June 14th to 10:00 pm Sunday, June 15th EDT.
We will set up this Saturday morning starting at around 10:00 am. The location is a new one, we will operate from the Fort Wayne headquarters of Regal Beloit America, located at 1946 West Cook Road, 46818, in the former Central Soya building. You can find Regal at the northwest corner of the intersection of Lima Road (route 3) and Cook Road, just behind Rose City Motors. We are on the north side of Cook Road and our entrance is directly across from ITT (Exelyis). (See map at right.) Drive around to the back side of the building as we will be in the parking area to the north side.
We are still looking for help with setup, take down, and of course operation. Plans call for operation on the six meter, two meter, and 70 centimeter bands. On sunday, we will do the take down around 3:00 pm, since we do not want to take down in the dark, plus this saves some Father’s Day time Sunday afternoon.
There will be an OTA (on the air) planning meeting this Thursday at 6:45pm on the 146.76 repeater. Please plan on joining us.
Intercom for the event will also be on the 146.76 repeater.
If you can’t come out to the operation, try to work us on the VHF bands. We will listen on 146.430 FM simplex as well for those who do not have SSB/CW capability.
