Please join us this Friday night for the June Fort Wayne Radio Club general meeting. It will be held at 7 p.m. EDT at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, at 4700 Vance Ave in Fort Wayne (just south of Snider High School).
The discussion will be centered on the upcoming Field Day operation at IPFW. We will also vote on new duplexers for the 146.76 machine, and also have discussion of our operation for the July 11 Three Rivers Festival Parade.
Come on out and join your fellow local hams!
We’ll see you all there.
I am interested in taking up the hobby. I have studied for the technician license and feel that I am ready for the exam. Obviously I have many questions from what type of radio to purchase and how to use it when I acquire my license. I will need a lot of guidance and not sure how to attain this. I live in NW part of Fort Wayne so I thought this would be a great first contact. I am hoping you can suggest a first step on what direction I can take.
Thanks !

Jeff, this is webmaster Jay, W9LW. I advise that you attend a Fort Wayne Radio Club meeting and introduce yourself to the people there. You will find a large number of members who will be happy to share their opinions on radios, etc. Meeting dates are listed on the club website’s “Events” page.
